Ancient Eri Ivory

Sculpture carved in plaster, from a copy of a model in refractory clay of fine chamotte, and reproduced in resin. Finished with shellac, iron paint and varnish. Among the tools used in the carving was a steel spike brush.

This sculpture is part of a search project for androgynous figures. The fragility of the resting face contrasts with the harder texture of the wood.
